Once again, Sydney is on my mind. A few days before my departure, a special outing was planned by my daughter-in-law and grandchildren. We drove to catch the train from Hurtsville Grove to the city and then we hopped on the ferry to Manly Beach, Sydney, NSW, AU. The city was celebrating Chinese New Year. It was on a Saturday, February 17, 2018.

I noticed that each time, I took a long flight either in the United States or if I flew abroad, I needed to use a good skin cream:

Now that I've decompressed from my long visit to New York City, it's time to start shopping for some cheap flights. My younger sister who lives in the U K has already booked her flight to Sydney for May 8, 2020. We are planning to visit my older son, his wife and my grandchildren. I am recalling my very first trip to Sydney in Sept/Oct 2013. It was an awesome experience especially as my grandchildren live in Sydney with my son and daughter-in-law. The first thing I did as soon I got off the plane at Kingsford Smith International Airport and got through Customs was: stopped at a restaurant to drink very, very, very hot tea which I definitely missed on my flight from Los Angeles (approximately 13 hours). As the temperatures are cooler in Sydney, Sydneyites will focus on more fall fashion, however, you can still dress up and wear an outer garment for warmth. I am looking at this site here which displays some awesome clothing:

I'm in Indianapolis, wishing I was flying to Sydney; remembering all mothers - in America, it's in May.  Remember to honor them on this day as well as on your birthday!!

Believe it or not, I celebrated my 74th Birthday on flight from Los Angeles to Kingsford Smith International Airport.  My grand daughter and grandson hopped on two buses and then on a train to come receive me.  We spend some time at the airport until my son came to pick us up.  It was awesome seeing all of them.  01/24/2018 First Morning in Hurtsville Grove, NSW, AU 01/25/18 

I am reminiscing while looking through shots of last January/February 2018, in Hurtsville Grove. I was vacationing for almost a month and I enjoyed every minute (my third trip to Sydney). This picture was taken at Salamander Bay, NSW, AU - it was an extremely windy cloudy afternoon!

My thoughts and prayers are for the people of New Zealand. I am especially sad as both my grandchildren were born in Auckland. Christchurch is home to a high school friend of mine with whom I grew up in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. I am sentimental and wear a kiwi charm that dangles from a black string around my neck that my older son and his family sent me from Auckland. Air New Zealand is one of my favorite airlines as well.

On the day after Christmas Day (December 26, 2016); we took a train from Oatley to Kiama, NSW, AU.  I thoroughly enjoyed the 2-hour train ride to Kiama. I wanted to witness the famous blow hole that I heard so much about.  I forgot to take my camera with me so I will pull up a video from YouTube for you to watch; in reality, I was simply blown away.  Tourists from every corner of the world, hopping on many different flights from around the world, seemed to congregate here to see these amazing wonders of nature.  All I can say in few words, "simply amazing." My son drove us one morning to Wollongong, NSW, AU and I was breathless observing the beauty from high on a cliff; looking down at the South Pacific Ocean.  The drive was breathtakingly amazing. This picture was taken by my grand daughter in September 2013. Wollongong is quite diverse and vibrant - many hotels that are quite inexpensive.  The University of Wollongong houses international students as well.

On this day, December 22, 2016, I was already enjoy a week in Oatley, NSW, AU with my son and his wife's family, my grand children were my true double delight.  We took early morning walks at close by Bondi and Bronte beaches with the family dog Khushi in tow. I was having a wonderful time but I also missed my daughters who live in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Here is Bondi Beach where, as I mentioned above, we took many walks on an almost daily basis; my granddaughter photographed this picture in September 2013

I have to admit:  Australia is beautiful. Above are "The Three Sisters" in the Blue Mountains, NSW, AU My first walk along Bondi Beach, NSW, AU  Of course, my 13-year-old grand daughter helped me to snap these beautiful photos.  My son did a lot of driving while I visited for nearly 21 days in Sept/Oct 2013.  It's etched in my memory.  The weather was "to die for."

I left Indianapolis with immense anticipation to visit a country, I heard a lot about; I, especially wished to travel to Sydney as my grand children live there. My son and his wife accompanied us to many touristy attractions of surrounding areas in New South Wales. I was in total awe. Sydney-ites enjoy a diverse and vibrant atmosphere. I document the highlights of my trip in trips I took in 2016/17 and 2018. On each trip, I flew on a different airline, i.e., Delta, United and American Airlines. This a sample of a meal that my son fixed for us; he loves to cook.
